'The APT Diploma in Working with common mental health diagnoses' provides 90 hours of focused training and is from the Association for Psychological Therapies (APT), a leading provider of training for professionals working in mental health and related areas in the UK and Ireland.
It is the only Diploma in this subject that is APT-accredited and also gives you access to APT’s relevant downloadable resources for use post-course. The course is available for whole teams and individuals and can be attended face-to-face or online.

'The APT Diploma in Working with common mental health diagnoses' provides 90 hours of training, leading to Level 4 APT accreditation. Attend the diploma as an individual or we can bring the training to you for a fixed fee, to ensure you get a supportive group addressing the same material.
The diploma comprises 90 hours of training made up by selecting 15 days of training from the courses below (e.g. five 3-day courses). Your team/organisation chooses the courses and you then all attend the same courses:
- The ADDRESS® Course for working with Personality Disorder (3-days) ^
- CBT Plus, with ADHD: intervention across the ages, from children to adults (3-days) ^
- CBT Plus, for Anger and Violence (3-days)
- CBT plus, for Lifestyle Issues affecting mental and physical wellbeing (3-days)
- CBT Essentials (3-days) ^ *
- CBT Plus, with Depression (3-days) *
- CBT Plus, with Anxiety (3-days)
- CBT Plus, for Suicide Prevention (3-days) *
- CBT for Psychosis - Key Knowledge and Skills for Everyday Interactions (3-days) ^
- Trauma-Focused CBT, for all ages (3-days) ^ *
- CBT Plus, with Alcohol and Substance Misuse (3-days) ^
- CBT for OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) (2-days) ^
- CBT with Non-Suicidal Self-Injury: There Must Be A Better Way® (2-days) ^ *
- Older People: Key Knowledge and Skills for Providing Effective Support (3 or 2-days)
- CBT for Panic (2-days)

To be awarded the diploma, students must also complete an online exam (in their own time) after each course.
If you have already attended one or more of these courses in the last 2 years, then you have an exemption for that subject(s), you don't need to attend the same course again. If you have already attended the equivalent of one or more of these courses from another training-provider in the last 2 years, then again you have an exemption for that subject(s), although you do need to submit evidence of the training and pay a reading fee for APT assessing it.
Please note that the diploma should be completed in not more than 2 years from the date you undertake the first course.
The Diploma can also be awarded by completing the individual courses separately, across 2 years.
What you receive as a result of attending the training:
You will be registered as having attended the course, thereby gaining The APT Diploma in Working with common mental health diagnoses, and receive a certificate to this effect and Level 4 accreditation which gains you access to the resources associated with the course.
Your registration lasts indefinitely, and your accreditation to use the resources lasts for 3 years and is renewable by attending a Masterclass top-up day or submitting evidence of continued practice, and your reflections on that practice (to the required level).
