Challenging Behaviour Courses

The RAID® Course: The positive approach to working with disturbed and challenging behaviour.

The RAID® course is an excitingly positive approach to working with disturbed and challenging behaviour, to eradicate it at source. It is the UK’s leading positive approach for working with disturbed and challenging behaviour and over 20,000 professionals have attended it.

It is the only challenging behaviour training that is APT-accredited and also gives you access to APT’s relevant downloadable resources for use post-course. The course is available for teams and individuals and can be attended face-to-face or online - or you or your colleagues can be trained to roll out the course in your organisation under license. The course can also be completed as part of The APT Diploma in Psychological Therapies.

Executive Summary:

The 3-day RAID® course is the UK’s leading approach for tackling disturbed and challenging behaviour at source: over 20,000 professionals have attended it. It is a comprehensive system which teaches professionals a philosophy and practice not only to deal with disturbed and challenging behaviour when it occurs, but also to prevent it by nurturing positive behaviour targetted to displace the disturbed and challenging behaviour. Staff feel pleased to share a unified system and to know what they are doing and why they are doing it, while clients delight in a relentlessly positive and empowering approach.

As well as providing training in the RAID® approach, APT gives annual awards for excellent work with disturbed and challenging behaviour, and also recognises RAID® Centres of Excellence

Who should attend The RAID® Course:

This course is suitable for 'whole teams' working with serious disturbed and challenging behaviour from adults or children and adolescents: it is important to have everyone 'singing from the same songsheet' when working with disturbed and challenging behaviour, and that is what The RAID® Course does.

Attenders come from a variety of work settings, but principally are working with:

Note: When we bring the course to you, the tutor is selected as having the same specialist background as those attending the course.

What The RAID® Course will do for you:

What you receive as a result of attending the training:

You will be registered as having attended the course, thereby gaining APT's Level 1 accreditation, and receive a certificate to this effect. The accreditation gives you access to online resources associated with the course and free access to the online exam if you wish to uprate your APT accreditation to Level 2. (Note, the exam to uprate your accreditation to Level 2 is inbuilt in the 'online anytime' version of the course.)

Your registration lasts indefinitely, and your accreditation lasts for 3 years and is renewable by sitting an online refresher which also upgrades your accreditation to APT Level 2 if you are successful in the associated online exam.

Your accreditation is given value by the fact of over 150,000 people having attended APT training. See APT accreditation for full details.
